Laughing Gull 52
Laughing Gull
SPECULATEDLeucophaeus atricilla
A smaller, black-hooded gull whose maniacal cackling call is the audio signature of Vice Beach.
The Laughing Gull is Vice Beach's most vocal resident, its distinctive cackling call providing an unhinged soundtrack to coastal activities from sunrise yoga to late-night drug deals. During breeding season, their dark hoods make them easily distinguishable from their herring gull cousins.
