SPECULATEDPavo cristatus
Semi-feral Indian peafowl colonies decorate (and occasionally terrorize) Leonida's wealthier suburbs.
Feral Indian Peafowl have established themselves in several upscale Leonida neighborhoods, descended from estate birds released or escaped over the last century. Their spectacular plumage is undercut by their screaming calls, which sound remarkably like a human in serious distress.
