Redfish

ESPECULADO

Sciaenops ocellatus

A copper-colored gamefish with a distinctive black tail spot, tailing in Leonida's shallow flats.

The Red Drum, known universally as Redfish, is one of Leonida's most sought-after inshore gamefish. Their habit of 'tailing' in shallow water — with their tails visible above the surface as they feed head-down — makes them a sight-fishing specialty.
