A small, skittish coastal shark responsible for most minor bite incidents off Vice Beach.
The Blacktip Shark is the species most likely to bite a Leonida swimmer, not through aggression but through mistaken identity in murky surf. Their spectacular migrating schools can number in the tens of thousands, occasionally visible from Vice Beach condos.
