Wedged between a boutique hotel and a souvenir shop, the Tideline is the kind of small Ocean Drive bar where tourists are happy to overpay for a mojito and locals are happy to let them. The bar wall glows with backlit liquor bottles in rainbow glass, and a small DJ booth in the corner spins a steady stream of tropical house that nobody really listens to. The outdoor patio is the main attraction — four tables on the sidewalk, close enough to the parade of pedestrians to make for great people-watching. A tiny staff apartment upstairs is technically a perk for the manager but has been used for considerably more interesting purposes.
