Mount Kalaga Fishing Cabin

A tiny lakefront fishing cabin with a dock and two canoes.

Half a mile from the nearest neighbor and three miles from the nearest paved road, this one-room cabin sits on the shore of Kalaga Lake where the water is black and the fish are bigger than they have any right to be. Inside, a wood stove handles heat and a propane burner handles cooking. A short dock extends into the lake, with two canoes tied up permanently and a small rowboat that leaks just slowly enough to be useful. It's not a safehouse in the tactical sense — it's a safehouse in the spiritual sense. Go here when everything else gets too loud.
