Leonida Keys Beach House

A modernist concrete beach house perched above a private cove.

Built by an architect with more vision than sense of restraint, this modernist concrete house cantilevers out over a private cove in the upper Leonida Keys. A glass floor panel in the living room looks straight down onto the water thirty feet below. The infinity pool appears to merge with the ocean beyond it. Hurricane-rated concrete construction means the house will outlast most of the things inside it, including probably the owner. A three-car garage tucked into the base of the structure handles road transport; a private stair down to the cove handles everything else.
