Ambrosia Church Conversion 50

Ambrosia Church Conversion

Safehouse ESPECULADO

Rural Ambrosia, Leonida

A deconsecrated country church converted into an eccentric private residence.

Built in 1908, abandoned in 1987, and renovated into a residence in the 2010s, this former country church on a quiet Ambrosia back road is one of the stranger properties in Leonida. The original sanctuary has been converted into a vast open-plan living room with the stained glass windows preserved and the pews replaced by low-slung couches. The bell tower has become a small loft bedroom reached by a spiral staircase. The attached rectory now serves as a three-car garage. The old graveyard out back has been quietly repurposed — certain headstones, it turns out, can be moved, and what's underneath them wasn't buried in the 1930s.
