Sea Turtle

CONFIRMED

Chelonia mydas

An endangered ocean wanderer that nests on Leonida's beaches between the spring breakers and the drug drops.

The Green Sea Turtle is one of several endangered turtle species that nests on Leonida's sandy beaches. These ancient mariners can live for over 80 years and travel thousands of miles through the ocean. During nesting season, females haul themselves onto Vice Beach at night to lay eggs in the sand, a primordial ritual that predates the nightclubs, neon signs, and everything else humans have built around them.
