Sandpiper

SPECULATED

Actitis macularius

A bobbing shorebird that teeters constantly as if unsure whether to stay or go.

The Spotted Sandpiper is a small shorebird that constantly bobs its tail as it forages along Leonida's shorelines, from Atlantic beaches to cypress-swamp edges. Females are the aggressors in their mating system, a rarity in the bird world.
