Eurasian Collared Dove 59
Eurasian Collared Dove
SPECULATEDStreptopelia decaocto
An introduced dove that escaped a Bahamas pet shop in the 1970s and promptly colonized Leonida.
The Eurasian Collared Dove is one of Leonida's most successful invasive birds, descended from a handful of escapees that fled a Bahamas pet shop break-in in the 1970s. Their black neck-collar and three-note cooing distinguish them from the native Mourning Dove.
