The Leonida Keys — a chain of sun-bleached islands connected by bridges at the southern tip of the state — are postcard-perfect on the surface and rotten underneath. 'Keys to the Kingdom' sends Jason and Lucia south on a mission that promises to be a turning point in their criminal careers: a face-to-face meeting with a cartel representative who controls the flow of product into southern Leonida. The drive down is atmospheric — the mainland fading in the rearview mirror, the road narrowing to a two-lane ribbon of asphalt over turquoise water, pelicans circling overhead. The meeting takes place at a lavish beachfront villa on one of the more remote islands, and for about five minutes, everything seems to be going well. Then it isn't. The deal was a setup — the cartel has been tipped off that Jason and Lucia have been skimming, and the villa becomes a kill box. What follows is a desperate fight through the villa grounds, a sprint to the marina, and a high-speed boat escape through the island chain while cartel gunboats give chase. The mission is a visual spectacle — crystal-clear water, explosions tearing through mangrove islands, and the Keys' famous Seven Mile Bridge providing the backdrop for the climactic pursuit. Surviving unlocks the Leonida Keys as a fully explorable region, complete with its own set of activities, properties, and secrets.
