Brown Pelican
CONFIRMADOPelecanus occidentalis
Dive-bombs fish with more commitment than most Vice City nightclub bouncers.
The Brown Pelican is a constant presence along Leonida's coastline, its spectacular plunge-diving technique providing free entertainment for beachgoers. These large seabirds cruise in formation just above the wave tops before folding their wings and torpedoing into the water headfirst. Their oversized throat pouch can hold up to three gallons of water, making them the ocean's most efficient fishermen.
