Enter Leonida's underground fighting circuit where the rules are suggestions, the referees are optional, and the purse money comes in cash-stuffed envelopes.
The underground fighting scene in Leonida is a brutal, bare-knuckle ecosystem that exists in the gap between organized sport and organized crime. It starts in basements and backyards — the kind of unsanctioned bouts where the 'ring' is a circle of screaming spectators, the 'referee' is whoever's hosting, and the 'rules' are don't die (and even that one's flexible). In Crosstown, underground fight nights are held in repurposed industrial spaces where the crowd packs in shoulder-to-shoulder, cash bets fly through the air, and the fighters are a mix of trained martial artists, desperate amateurs, and absolute psychopaths who just like hitting people. Work your way up through the circuit and the venues get bigger, the purses get fatter, and the opponents get genuinely terrifying. Stockyard warehouse fights draw serious money and serious fighters, while Ambrosia's backyard circuits have a feral, anything-goes energy that no amount of training fully prepares you for. The combat system features a deep striking and grappling mechanics — stand-up boxing, muay thai clinch work, wrestling takedowns, and submission attempts on the ground. Learn your opponent's patterns, manage your stamina, and know when to press the attack versus when to survive. Reach the top of the underground ladder and you'll earn an invitation to the semi-sanctioned events at Vice City's arena, where the money is life-changing and the violence is only slightly more regulated.
