Roseate Spoonbill

A bright pink bird with a face only a mother could love, scooping through the muck of Leonida's wetlands.

The Roseate Spoonbill is one of Leonida's most visually striking birds, its vivid pink plumage rivaling the flamingo's. Its distinctive spoon-shaped bill sweeps through shallow water in a side-to-side motion, filtering out crustaceans and small fish. Nearly hunted to extinction for their feathers in the 19th century, they've made a remarkable comeback in Leonida's protected wetlands.
