Ocean View is the two-block-deep strip along Ocean Drive where Vice City performs its identity for the cameras. The hotels here — the Park Central, the Colony, the Breakwater — are lovingly restored pastel landmarks that charge three hundred dollars a night for a room the size of a walk-in closet, and guests pay it gladly because they came to Vice City to wake up looking at exactly this. The sidewalk cafes are occupied twenty hours a day by a rotating crowd of tourists, European models, aging actors, cocaine-era legends who never left, and the kind of smooth-talking locals whose business cards list a profession vague enough to cover anything. By 10 PM the whole strip goes supersonic — bass bleeding from doorways, bottle-service convoys crawling past in chrome-wrapped SUVs, and enough ambient illegal activity to keep the undercovers comfortably employed.
