This coastal bay area is built around a stunning natural harbor where the water shifts from emerald to sapphire depending on the hour, and the sunsets are so absurdly beautiful that even the most jaded locals occasionally stop to stare. The waterfront is lined with seafood restaurants ranging from genuinely excellent to tourist-trap catastrophic, interspersed with boutique shops selling things nobody needs at prices nobody should pay. The marina is a floating parking lot of wealth — rows of gleaming yachts owned by retirees, hedge fund managers, and a few individuals whose income sources are deliberately vague on paper. The residential side of Watson Bay is a mix of old Leonida waterfront homes with wraparound porches and new luxury condo towers that look like glass-and-steel middle fingers pointed at the architectural heritage of the neighborhood. It's beautiful, expensive, and slightly insufferable — which is exactly how the residents like it.
