The Informant
Stranger ESPECULADODowntown Vice City parking garage
A mysterious stranger approaches you in a parking garage with a proposition: feed information to the DEA, or they'll feed your file to the state prosecutor.
Trust is a liability in Vice City, and this mission proves why. While going about your business downtown, you receive an anonymous text directing you to the top level of a parking garage. Waiting there is Agent Reyes — DEA, undercover division, the kind of fed who operates in the gray area between law enforcement and criminal enterprise. Reyes has a file on you thick enough to guarantee twenty years in a federal facility, and a proposition that's barely more appealing: become an informant. Feed the DEA information about rival criminal operations, and your file stays in a locked drawer. Refuse, and it lands on the state prosecutor's desk by morning. It's not really a choice, and Reyes knows it. Your first task is to plant a listening device at a location where a rival crew holds their weekly meetings — a back room at a pool hall in Little Havana. Getting in requires either social engineering, stealth, or a combination of both. The rival crew is paranoid and well-armed, and being caught with a federal listening device in their territory is a death sentence from both sides of the law. The mission explores the moral complexity that GTA VI promises to deliver, forcing players into compromises where every option has a cost.
