Prawn Island

A small island north of Starfish that rejected the millionaires and became Vice City's chaotic artistic and underground-music enclave instead.

Prawn Island is the weirder, wilder cousin of Starfish Island — same bay, completely different trajectory. What was supposed to become another exclusive residential enclave instead fell into decades of legal disputes, half-built developments, and a slow colonization by the Vice City underground. Today the island is a patchwork of abandoned construction, a defunct film studio that now cranks out mixtapes and music videos, a dense cluster of tattoo shops and record stores, and warehouse venues that host raves drawing thousands of sweaty kids from across Leonida. The residents are the artists, DJs, dealers, and scene-adjacent hangers-on who couldn't afford anywhere else with a water view. The Prawn Island bridge remains famously half-finished, jutting into the bay toward a connection that the courts have been blocking since before most of the island's current residents were born.
