Will GTA VI launch with a Metacritic score of 95 or higher?

GTA IV: 98. GTA V: 97. RDR2: 97. Rockstar's last three flagships all cleared 95. Reviews tend to score generation-defining titles generously.

PLATFORMS

2 predictions
Platforms · Tier-1 reporting leans YES

Will a PC port arrive within 18 months of console launch?

GTA V and RDR2 both arrived on PC after their console launches. Take-Two and Rockstar have not confirmed PC for GTA VI, so this stays a precedent-based prediction rather than a dated claim.

81 yes 81% 19 no
Platforms · Tier-1 reporting leans NO

Will any version of GTA VI support VR (PSVR2 or native PCVR) within 2 years?

RDR2 has a popular community VR mod. Sony has been trying to get AAA VR titles for PSVR2. Rockstar has never officially shipped VR. A bold but plausible play.

24 yes 24% 76 no

STORY

Will GTA VI ship paid single-player story expansions?

GTA V got zero paid single-player DLC. Rockstar said in 2014 there would be SP DLC, then quietly never delivered. Online monetisation took over. Will VI follow the same pattern?

45 yes 45% 55 no
Story · Tier-1 reporting leans YES

Will GTA VI use real-time character switching between Lucia and Jason?

GTA V introduced live character switching for its three protagonists. Trailer 2 shows Lucia and Jason together as a duo. The technical groundwork is there.

71 yes 71% 29 no
Story · Tier-1 reporting leans YES

Will the game open with Lucia in the Leonida Keys correctional facility?

Trailer 1's first dialogue is Lucia's prison scene. Rockstar tends to open games with the moment they tease in their reveal trailer (cf. GTA V's heist).

86 yes 86% 14 no

Will Jason's backstory explicitly confirm he's a US military veteran?

Trailer 2 includes an apparent military reference. The 'Bonnie & Clyde' framing matches a veteran-on-the-run archetype. Plausible but not yet confirmed.

ONLINE

2 predictions
Online · Tier-1 reporting leans NO

Will GTA Online II launch alongside the single-player release?

GTA Online launched 2 weeks after GTA V's single-player. Rockstar has more experience now and a stronger online business model, but launching both modes simultaneously is risky.

38 yes 38% 62 no
Online · Tier-1 reporting leans YES

Will GTA Online II launch with a Shark Card equivalent (real-money currency)?

Shark Cards drove $7B+ of GTA Online revenue. Take-Two would have to actively choose to leave that on the table. Effectively certain.

95 yes 95% 5 no

PRICING

1 prediction
Pricing · Tier-1 reporting leans YES

Will the standard edition cost $80 or more in the US?

Industry pricing has crept from $60 → $70 since 2020. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has openly mused about $80+ pricing for AAA. Rockstar can probably justify it more than anyone.

GAMEPLAY

4 predictions
Gameplay · Tier-1 reporting leans YES

Will first-person mode return as a toggle from launch?

GTA V added first-person on the PS4 / Xbox One re-release. It's now expected. No reason to drop it for VI - but Rockstar has surprised before.

88 yes 88% 12 no

Will players be able to buy and customise homes in single-player?

Vice City Stories and GTA V had purchasable property. GTA Online's apartment economy was a billion-dollar business model. Strong precedent for SP property in VI.

79 yes 79% 21 no

Will dealing drugs be a core repeatable activity in the open world?

Vice City had drug dealing. RDR2 had moonshining and herbalism systems. Trailer 2's tone leans into the modern drug-trafficking aesthetic of South Florida.

73 yes 73% 27 no
Gameplay · Tier-1 reporting leans NO

Will GTA VI ship unscripted procedural NPC dialogue at launch?

Take-Two has patents on procedural NPC behaviour. Rockstar has historically preferred authored dialogue. The question is whether GTA VI expands ambient conversations beyond fixed voice lines.

WORLD

Will GTA VI feature a working in-game cryptocurrency economy?

Trailer 2 features brief shots of crypto-aesthetic UI in some background scenes. This could be set dressing or an actual mechanic. Rockstar tracks contemporary culture closely.

Will the Leonida Keys be a fully-explorable archipelago at launch?

Trailer 1 and 2 both feature Keys footage. The Overseas Highway analog is visible. Rockstar has a history of teasing full open access in trailers and delivering on it.
