Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premiered on Netflix at 3 p.m. Eastern on 27 August 2026 and went free on Rockstar's YouTube channel and the official site at 9 p.m. Eastern. The video runs 26:48. Rockstar's Newswire post says it was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.
It is the first time Rockstar has shown systems rather than cinematics. Jason takes cover and fires during a skyscraper shootout. A Vice City car chase shows that shooting police tyres is an effective way to break pursuit. Players can switch between Jason and Lucia, and the two communicate by phone when apart. Rockstar says their relationship shapes the story and can be played as romantic or platonic.

This is the reference video for every mechanics claim between now and launch. If a feature is not in the Extended Look or a later official post, it stays labelled reported or rumour on this site.
The wanted system returns with up to six stars, and police respond to clothing, appearance and vehicle, so escaping can mean changing clothes, dumping a compromised car or hiding in a boot. A separate criminal profile tracks behaviour across the game and does not reset the way a wanted level does. Diet, exercise, sleep and stress visibly change the protagonists' bodies and faces.
Activities shown or described include basketball, kayaking, scuba diving, jet skiing, airboats, dirt bikes, circuit racing, gym workouts, wrestling, parachuting, swimming, nightclubs, alligator hunting and interacting with dogs. Rockstar North's Rob Nelson told press his own playthrough took about 80 hours including optional goals.
Rockstar did not show GTA Online or any multiplayer, and did not publish a map. Resolution and frame-rate targets were not stated in the video.
