GTA 6 Standard ($79.99 / £69.99) vs Ultimate ($99.99 / £89.99): every item in the Ultimate Edition, what both include, upgrade options and who should buy which.
Grand Theft Auto VI comes in two editions. Both contain the full game and both get the pre-order bonus. The question is whether $20 / £20 / €20 of extra content is worth it to you.

Rockstar has not said how much in-game money or progression the businesses provide. None of the items is described as locking content away from Standard owners.
Who should buy which
Buy Standard if you want the game and nothing else, you are buying physical, or you would rather wait and see whether the extras matter after a few hours. You can upgrade later on PlayStation.
Buy Ultimate if you know you will spend dozens of hours in the game, you enjoy owning businesses and car collections, or you want the extra vehicles from the first session. Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson reportedly took about 80 hours to finish his playthrough, so long-haul players get the most value.
Do not buy Ultimate for early access, online advantages or a disc. None of those is included.
Our take
The Ultimate Edition is a cosmetic and convenience bundle, not a different game. Standard plus a later upgrade is the lowest-risk choice. If you are certain you will play for months, Ultimate is reasonable value at a 25 to 29 percent premium.

Quick answers
What is the difference between GTA 6 Standard and Ultimate?
Both include the full game. Ultimate adds vehicles including the '95 Grotti Cheetah and a classic car collection, five businesses, weapon variants and patterns, mod shops, a safehouse garage and outfit sets. It costs $20 / £20 / €20 more.
Does the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition give early access?
No. Rockstar has not announced early access for any edition. Standard and Ultimate unlock at the same time.
Can I upgrade from Standard to Ultimate later?
Yes. Rockstar Store says Standard owners can upgrade on the PlayStation Store at any time. An Xbox upgrade path is expected but check the Xbox Store listing.
Is there a physical Ultimate Edition?
Reports say the Ultimate Edition is digital-only on PlayStation and Xbox stores. Physical Standard copies contain a download code, not a disc.
Does Ultimate affect GTA Online?
Rockstar has not detailed any online mode for GTA VI. The Ultimate content is described for Jason and Lucia's story.
